In game 199 Tiger Veteran Matt Wellstead wound back the clock to his goalkicking days kicking a lazy 6 goals to once again confirm his versatility.  Despite some second quarter resistance from Kambalda the Tigers recorded an impressive 74 point victory.  The game was soured with Kambalda Co-Coach Ben Andrews completing a sensational mark but landing awkwardly which prompted anxious moments to a possible neck/back injury, Andrews was taken to hospital and was given an all clear to serious injury but will miss many weeks hereafter all the same as a result.  With his other co-coach Stephen Freemantle also suffering injury at work during the week the Eagles face even tougher times with two of their stars now sidelined.  Boulder ruckman Blake Lawrence continues to impress while Brett Thompson running into form will please all at Tigerland.  Eagles recruit Mathew Johnstone has had a solid 2007 while Daniel Milton playing his 50th league game was good with three goals.

Boulder have the bye this week but will be excited Saturday night week when they are home to Railways when club stalwart and favorite son Matt Well stead will wear the black and gold Guernsey for the 200th time, a remarkable effort for this multiple premiership champion.

The clash between the top two didn't disappoint, with Mines holding the whip hand for most of the match and despite a last quarter dash by the Panthers saw defeat for the second time this year to the Diorites by 9 points.
Mines were led well by small forward and on baller Jason Boyd and Matt James returning from injury kicked 3 also to take his season tally to 22 and leading the competition by one.  On baller Trent Moon endorsed his early season favoritism for the Mitchell Medal with another quality effort and he has been one of the prime reasons for his teams unbeaten start to 2007.  Railways without key forward Michael Towns due to a one week suspension improvised up forward and would have been disappointed with a sluggish start to in the end analysis may have been the difference to winning and losing but at the same time well please to reduce the round one margin down from close to 14 goals to just under 2.  Youngster David Harring played well, while Rhett Foster and Brendan Sacilotto continued impressive form.
