In the battle of the winless it was the Roos who broke through for their maiden 2007 victory by 5 points over Kambalda.  The Roos went into the re-scheduled day game at Kambalda West with a host of injuries including skipper David Clark and hung on against a late surging Kambalda.  Known for his goalkicking at Reserves level Ral Finlayson in the end proved the difference between the two sides kicking five of his sides 10 goals and he and the Roos selectors may need to re-assess what grade he lines up in from here on.  Kambalda will be dissapointed to getting so close to break through for a drought breaking win and whilst the competive nature of the contest was pleasing the narrow result would have been like a knife to heart of all at the nickel town.

This was a forgetable performance by Boulder with Coach Shane Cable questioning his players commitment and preperation as they suffered a 49 defeat at the hands of Railways.  This was the first meeting of the two sides since the 2006 Grand Final and Railways again were on the right side of the result but this time a little easier than the decider.  Michael Towns once again displayed his appetite for the big sticks with seven, while Railways Baby Panthers in Aaron Rymer, Chris Rymer and David Harring all figured high up in their sides best players. At no time did the Tigers threaten and the smallest of consolations was winning the final quarter while recruit Henry Papertalk was impressive on debut for the Tigers after figuring in the GFL in recent years with both Mines and Kambalda, while Damian Dunlea moved to fourth in the league goalkicking with his four goals taking his season tally to 11.
