The Tigers had little trouble recording their second win of the year with a comfortable 74 point victory over Kambalda. The Eagles remain winless but would be pleased that a host of new players made it to the better players list. Shane Cable's Boulder rebounded well after being soundly beaten last start by ladder leader Mines and their playing stocks have improved with forward Tama Blackman back in the league side together with Michael & Matt Worthington while former WAFL Brett Thompson and Craig Walker played their first league games for 2007.

Railways Best Players: David Stubbs, Brendan Sacilotto, Clinton Freeman, Michael McLean & Michael Blacker.
Warm conditions greeted both teams in this eagerly awaited clash. The first quarter lived up to expectations but from there Railways failed to fire a shot as the Diorites ran riot to outscore their rivals 14 goals to 1. This was a rude wake call for last years premiers Railways who started the season in impressive fashion against Kalgoorlie. The 81 point whopping gave Mines Coach Graeme Borchet his first success against his former side and Mines at this early stage look very much the goods with strength in all lines and now a reliable and enforcing focal point in Matt James with the former Eagle now leading the goal kicking tally with 15, but finding he has plenty of teammates who can find the big opening. Railways best player was skipper David Stubbs while credit is certainly given to Diorite Mark McQueen who kept the ever dangerous Michael Towns to 2 goals
