For the second time in four clashes Boulder has broken the heart of Kalgoorlie by recording a thrilling one point victory, the previous occasion was the most tragic for the Roos when the 2006 Preliminary Final was decided by the same margin. It was a very entertaining contest and a giant second half picked the Tigers up off the canvas and despite numerous lead changes in the last quarter an advantage call to the days Star in Damian Dunlea saw him kick his 5th after skipper Adrian Hooks was taken high in the goal square with moments left on the clock. Victory was sweet for the Tigers who remain within reach of the top two teams and can be most thankful to the creative Dunlea who individually turned the match on its head after being shifted forward in the second half and was joined in the best players by Chris Bowie who added 3 goals to another hard working running display while Daniel Coughlan enjoyed the physicality and won many one on one battles. Confirming that you need to play the full duration of quarters was clearly illustrated when skipper Adrian Hooks goaled after the quarter time siren, while Henry Papertalk kicked truly just on three quarter time and then you had Dunlea's match winner with seconds on the clock. The Roos will kick themselves for allowing Boulder to kick 9 third quarter goals when they did look like they had the match in their keeping at half time. Wes Miller was again all over the place and a goal from the Recreation Hotel pocket in the third was simply sensational but also just so simply Wes Miller. Andrew Cullen tried hard and also kicked a great long range goal while David Clark played possibly his best game of 07 with a hard running attacking display while the find of the year for the Roos was the previously domiciled reserves player in Ral Finlayson who was a real focal point with 6 goals and moved to third on the goalkicking table with 22 for the season.

Not for the first time this Kambalda has given the league leaders one major fright, if you were driving past the oval at three quarter you would have been excused for thinking there was a scoreboard mistake. But for all of this sadly Kambalda failed to fire a shot in the last quarter to run out disappointed 44 point losers. Mines did finally click into gear to kick 8 unanswered last quarter goals and had more run and fitness against the gallant Eagles. Darrah Doutch proved the chief goal scoring contributor with four to take his season tally to 20 while Trent Moon was once again the Mines best with great support from Codey Alexander.
The Eagles were led by skipper Mark Paperone who once again proved useful in front of goals and has proved his liking for full points against the Diorites while Jason Dowling & Jay Fisher was once again amongst the best with Matt Johnstone while big George Lloyd battled all day.
