A vital clash for both sides with second spot at stake while Boulder saluted Matthew Wellsteads 200th league appearance for the black and golds.  The Tigers burst out of the blocks and played all over the Panthers in the first quarter and looked set to take the points with ease, but after quarter time it was Railways who then looked quicker, sharper and fitter as they held the Tigers goalless and turned around an 18 point deficit to lead by 5 points at the break.  Michael Towns was dangerous in the Panthers forward line while Matt and Carl Armstrong were proving handy around the goals but also received great drive from Ruckman James Langley and raw youth in Dave Harring.   Railways then went on to set up a match winning performance in the third and despite a late flutter by Tiger Tama Blackman in the last with two quick goals a highly entertaining contest was won by the Panthers to the tune of 20 points.  In show  of great sportsmanship the Railways side remained on the ground while Matthew Wellstead was chaired and cheered from the ground after once again finishing in the better players, and with another 4 appearances for Tigers will see him become the clubs leading games played player.

The Roos rich vein of form continued with an easy and impressive 83 point victory which now has the club eyeing honours above their current fourth placing on the ladder.  The margin also assisted improve a previously flagging percentage to be just under 90%.  It was the wise old heads of Kalgoorlie who all figured in the best players and despite a faltering start are taking on an appearance of a side who could have a solid play at the 2007 Holy Grail.
For Kambalda this might have been their most disappointing effort of the season considering the two teams were only parted by 6 points last start and the Eagles now find themselves 3 games and a significant percentage margin down with 8 games to play and finals look gone for another year.
