Played Under Lights Wednesday Night April 8th at Digger Daws Oval.

Mines Rovers                     6.4                        10.6                      15.9                      19.10 (124)

Boulder                               4.3                        6.4                       9.8                       11.10 (76)

The Diorites rebounded superbly to Sundays bashing by Railways to record a solid 8 goal margin against arch rivals Boulder.  Mines with only a short turn around responded well to a short preparation with Daniel Casset again amongst the goals while the Diorites saluted for favourite son Brett Turner who brought up his 300th GFL game and in the process becoming the first person in this competition to do so, Turner has now played 255 games for Mines, after 45 games with Boulder early in his career and has chalked up an impressive record of 10 GFL flags with both Mines and Boulder combined.

New Tiger Coach Adrian Hooks who is a former captain and current life member of the black and golds would have been disappointed in their first outing where the opposition increased the lead at every change and will look forward to further inputs by recruits James Murray (Kambalda) and Justin Langridge (Mines)

Goalscorers and Best Players will be advised ASAP.

Played Under Lights Thursday Night April 9th at Sir Richard Moore Sports Centre.

Railways                             6.3                        10.6                      16.8                      18.9 (117)

Kalgoorlie                           2.2                        3.2                       3.5                       5.10  (40)

To cap off a solid start for Railways after a 81 point belting of Mines Sunday, they tuned in the Roos for a Thursday Night delight by 77 points.  Kody Kelman made it 16 for the season thus far with another 8 goal haul, which could have been more if not for rucking duties in the final term when the game was well and truly done and dusted.  Railways had dominate players in virtually all positions with Dave Serich displaying his big man value, Aaron Rymer 2 goals, Meshek White 3 goals, while Matt Armstrong, Dave Harring, Nafyn Pattiaratchi, Brendan Sacilotto all have prominent games while Skipper David Stubbs turned out another classy display.  The Roos despite an opening round 73 point win found less than a week is also a long time in football and find themselves with a negative winning margin and have split results to round two.

Full Goalscorers and Best Players will be advised ASAP.

This Weekend

Saturday Kambalda’s first home game of 2009 is a tough ask as they host the rampant Railways, while Sunday an early season crunch game looms for both Kalgoorlie and Boulder, as the Roos host the Tigers at Sir Richard Moore a game which may provide some interest as former Tigers Jason Rowe, Vic Smith and Brett Thompson may line up against their former club for the first time.
