Railways took a step towards finals football, while Boulder surrendered second spot in a lackluster affair at headquarters.  Railways set up victory with a dominant second quarter, but then did everything possible to keep Boulder interested thereafter but the Tigers weren’t up to task to fall 20 points in arrears of the Panthers.

Sean O’Keeffe turned in another high quality performance, while Aaron Rymer was hard at every contest and provided plenty of opportunity for his teammates, while forwards Mick McLean and in particular Christian Robinson were very good kicking 3 each.  The brightest light for the Tigers were the performance of Scott Worthington, in his debut league season he played this match like a seasoned campaigner and took and held marks beyond his size and reach, while playing mostly forward Chayne George had a good all round game and almost self propelled Boulder much further into the contest with a sparkling 10 minute burst in the 3rd, while the reliable Chris Maguire broke further ahead in the Leading Goal Kicking stakes with 3.

Played Sunday July 6th at Kambalda West Oval.

Best Players Kalgoorlie: Wes Miller, Stephen Uebergang, Shane Properjohn, Steve Wilson, Dane Stewart & Nick Hay.

Kambalda’s resurgence gained more momentum with an easy 58 point victory over the Roos and in doing so pushed their way into second place, and a launch pad for that important double chance, while Kalgoorlie made finals a difficult proposition being 6 points behind 4th placed Railways with four games left for each side in the home and away.  Kambalda blasted the contest away in a dominant 3rd quarter and as can be seen by the goal kickers created multiples over 5 very good players, while for Kalgoorlie this was improvement on their one goal effort the previous week but coach Shane Properjohn has not given the season up despite being puzzled by the Roos falling in and out of games.
